India marked significant progress in urban housing with the launch of the 'Angikaar 2025' campaign by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. NITI Aayog has put forward a strategic plan for India to become self-sufficient in pulse production by 2030 and double its pulse output by 2047 from 26.06 million tonnes in 2022 to 51.57 million tonnes. The plan emphasizes area retention, cluster-based cropping, distribution of high-quality seeds, and climate-smart cultivation practices targeted at 111 high-potential districts to ensure sustainable growth in the pulses sector.
